Ohio State here we come!

Well, as you can see from the heading of this post, we have finally made our decision for Grad school and we will be going to Ohio State. We will be leaving in March. It is so nice to finally know where we will be going so that we can make plans and prepare. It's also nice that we won't be leaving until March because that will give us plenty of time to prepare, but not too much time to just wait around. We're sad to be leaving family and friends, but it will be an exciting adventure. I can't believe that it is November already. I am sooo excited for the holidays. This has been a pretty busy week. We went to Frightmares on Monday and then on Halloween we had a murder mystery dinner party. It was fun, but a lot of work. Mike played Inspector Cluedeu, a spin off of the Pink Panther detective, and he was definetly the life of the party.:) This weekend I am down at David's watching the kids. They have been so good. It's nice to be able to spend time with my nieces and nephews before we have to leave. Mike has a pretty crazy weekend as well. First, he helped move a piano and then he went to Bradleys hockey game. He has a ton of homework and a lesson to prepare for as well. I guess it's good for us to keep busy when we have to be apart. Well, that's it for the Sharps this week. Take Care!

5 little facts or habits

O.K. so I was tagged by my sister Jackie to respond to the question of "5 little known facts or habits about me". This may be a little bit difficult for me since it is hard for me to talk about myself a lot, but here it goes. I may be able to convince Mike to do this to, but we'll have to see.:)

1. Like Jackie, I also have a little bit of OCD. (Perhaps not as extreme:)) No, I am crazy when it comes to scribbling on paper. I can never scribble because I will then have to fill it all in until it is completely black and there is no ink left in my pen,:) It gets to the point where if there is even an uneven line I HAVE to make it straight. I gets pretty annoying. Good thing I am not in school anymore.

2. My family will know about this one, but when I was 5 years old I was hit by a car. I asked my brother to tell me when to cross the street so that I could go and talk with a friend of mine. When I was finished talking I felt awkward just standing there, and my brother was taking forever to tell me when to cross back, so I just decided to go on my own. Come to find out there was a reason he wasn't telling me to cross the street. I ended up in traction, and a body cast for a few weeks. I was really lucky. My poor brother got blamed for it though....I don't know where my dad would have gotten that idea from.:) It's good that we can laugh about it now.

3. I have an addiction! I am addicted to food. I love to eat and I love to cook. It is horrible and I could never be anorexic because I love food too much. I guess I have the opposite problem. I love going to different restaurants and trying new foods. It is a hobby of mine, when we can afford it. I guess it is good that I have someone to cook for now, but now he has to share in my addiction. Good thing we are getting an elliptical.:)

4. When I was young I either wanted to be a Zoo Keeper or a Cheese Maker. Mike had to make cheese all day yesterday and he was soooo bored, but I thought that it would be the funnest thing ever. Have you ever seen the Mr. Rogers' episode where they go to the cheese factory. That was going to be me. I would have also loved to work with the animals, as long as I was only playing with them and giving them their food. No clean up work.

5. My favorite movies are Inspirational sports films. Everyone laughs because I am not your typical girl. Of course I am always up for the great "chick flick", but you can always sell me on "Remember the Titans", "Field of Dreams", "Miracle", and the list goes on. I guess Mike was lucky in that regard, but he's pretty good at watching anything. He's very well rounded.

Well that's it for me. Anyone else up to sharing?

Better Late than Never

So Sorry that it has taken so long to post another blog. Jackie got on my case about not hearing anything new so here ya go. Life is great! We had a great weekend in which we were able to go down to Salt Lake and spend some time with family and friends. First, we went to our brother in law Brians art exhibit. It was very exciting. We are proud of him. We then went and spent some time with Mike's buddies from High School. It was good for me to meet them and get to know them better. We then were able to go to Sammy's birthday party. It has been awhile since we've gotten together with the Sharp side of the family and so it was great to see them. I'm so excited for the holidays because then we'll get to see a lot of our families. Well, as for me, I am just working and Mike just passed the half way point of his last semester of Undergraduate school. Yeah!!!! We are still trying to decide where we are going for grad school. We have a great opportunity at Ohio State in which we would be leaving in March, but we are STILL! waiting to hear back from Cornell. We finally found out that he had been accepted, but they are still working on finding him a professor to work with, so that they can provide us with more information as well as an offer. Hopefully we'll know before the end of the month. There are definite pro's and con's for both schools and areas, but I know wherever we decide to go it will be for the best. AHHHHHHHH!!!!! I can't believe we are moving, and so soon. I'm still getting used to the idea. It's not real to me yet. Well, we are getting a new addition to our family this coming week.... an ELIPTICAL!!! I'll have to send some pictures:) We are also going to Frightmares and so I'll let you all know how the new ride "Wicked" is. O.K. that's a ton of information for now, so we'll let you know how everything turns out. Take care everyone:)

The Roof and Matt's Eagle Scout

September was a pretty busy month for us. We were able to go to the Roof Restaurant in Salt Lake City which was very nice. I have always wanted to go and since it was closed on our Honeymoon, we thought we might as well go while we could. The dessert was the best part.:) After dinner we headed south to attend Matt's Court of Honor. He received his Eagle Scout award and we are so proud of him. Mike made his singing debut, and was amazing. We were glad to be a support to Matt. It was a great weekend made up of good food and family.

Gilbert

About a month ago Mike bought me a plant for our 3 month anniversary. He is now our new pet, and Mike's favorite play buddy.:) Here are a few pictures of the two having a great time. They enjoyed playing catch, fishing, and Gilbert even took the car for a spin. It seems someone had a little too much time on their hands. :)

Babysitting

Well for the next couple of days I am getting a break from "work". I am babysitting Heidi's kids while she and Matt are in Florida. I hope the weather is nicer there than here. Heidi has just moved into a new house and is expecting her fourth child. Needless to say she is very busy, and I'm glad I could give her a little break. Mike has school everyday and so is unable to come down with me. It is going to be lonely without him, but luckily it is only 3 days. It's amazing how accustomed you get to someone when you are with them everyday. I am so excited for the holidays, and especially this fall weather. It is my favorite time of year and Sardine Canyon is especially beautiful with all the changing leaves. It is hotpink and bright orange whith little hint of green. I am in the process of harvest decorating our apartment and probably enjoying it a little too much.:) Well, tah tah for now.

Welcome

Well here is our very first blog site. I figured we better hop on the band wagon. Life is busy but great for us. Mike just started school again and we are very excited to have him finally graduate. We are still trying to decide where we are going for grad school. The options are Ohio State, which he has already been accepted, and Cornell, in which we will not hear back from until October. Until then our fate is unclear. We are sad to be leaving family, but excited for a new adventure. I am working at Lee's Marketplace again. We decided that it would be best for me not to return to my teaching job and things have really been working out. I was offered the assistant manager position at the Deli and it is definetly a less stressful job for me at this time. Other than that we are busy being newly weds and enjoying every minute of it. Until next time. Take Care
